I'm writing this as I see various election results roll in. I'm taking a mental break this afternoon (or this week); it's been an incredibly stressful campaign season. And while I am thrilled that the Dems have taken back the House, as well as several state offices in Michigan (including the governorship), there's still a long way to go.

It has certainly been a week of adjustment - and not only in the time-zone department. In the eleven days since I've arrived in London (specifically in Harrow), my time has been divided between orientation and school prep and making my new flat seem a bit more homely.
Welp! I have arrived in London, and my sleep schedule is starting to get back to normal. I suppose a good way to start off my series of blog posts would be to describe how in the world I got here. Short answer: a plane. But, having made the jaunt to the UK four times now, I think I’m in a place to provide some helpful hints to you all, no matter where you’re traveling.
